These new state of the art Pediatric Only Operating Rooms will contain 26 beds, Pre/Post Operating Rooms, 4 General
Surgery Rooms, 2 Orthopedic Operating Rooms, 1 Cardiac Operating Room, and 1 Neurosurgery Operating Room. These areas will be customized for children with positive distractions in the form of selectable visual themes, which will also reduce the stress and anxiety for the young patients and their families.
Included in this space will also be a Pediatric Surgical Operating Reception Area where families can comfortably wait for their child during the procedures.
The Operating Rooms will be staffed by a dedicated Pediatric team of doctors, nurses, technicians, pediatric anesthesiologists, pediatric radiologists and Child Life Specialists.
This state of the art facility will be the first of its kind on Long Island.
